Using Satnav and GPS
The Glen is situated on the B6254 – Kendal to Old Hutton road. We do not have a street address. If you put our post-code into your satnav/GPS, you will be directed to a private road, adjacent to our property, which does not have easy access to The Glen. In order not to disturb our neighbours unnecessarily, please check our instructions below.
Arriving by car from the South;
Exit the M6 at junction 36 signposted Kendal/Skipton. At the roundabout take the 3rd exit signposted Skipton A65. After approx. 100 yard,s turn left at small roundabout signposted Endmoor A65. Continue along this road through the villages of Crooklands, Endmoor and Barrows Green. After 4.7 miles, you will pass a Texaco garage on your right and enter a 40-mph zone, passing the sign for Kendal town. Almost immediately after this turn right into Helmside Road signposted Oxenholme Train station. Continue on this road for almost 1 mile. At the T junction (the Train station is directly in front of you) turn right and proceed up the hill. The Glen is 200 yards on the right-hand side – you will see our sign on the B6254. If you pass the Station Inn on your left you have gone too far.
At Barrows Green some Sat Nav’s will tell you to turn right and proceed over the Helm. Do not do this. The road is closed. Remain on the A65 until you enter the outskirts of Kendal.
Arriving by car from the North;
Exit the M6 at junction 37 signposted Kendal/Sedbergh. On the exit slip road take the right-hand lane. At the T junction turn right signposted Kendal A684. After 3.9 miles, you pass a 15-mph sign, immediately after this turn left. (This turning is quite concealed. If the road bears right and you descend downhill, you have missed the turn). After 20 yards at the junction, turn left again onto Hayclose Lane. After 1 mile turn right at the T junction (the Station Inn is on your left). Take the second left into the Glen . Our entrance is on the B6254 – look for our sign on the left- enter the drive and bear right into our car park. Please do not follow your satnav down the first turning past the bungalows – this is a private lane. If you descend the hill as far as the train station, you have gone too far.
